In this video I will be showing you how I experimented with a couple of different oscillators in order to create electrically generated music with my guitar. I will talk about a function generator, a summing amplifier, voltage controlled oscillators and a 555 timer circuit before I will build the open source Arduino pedalShield project in order to create some proper guitar effects. Let's get started!

Hey Scott, sag mal kannst Du mir vielleicht eine Literaturempfehlung für Elektronik geben? Also Schaltkreise planen, durchrechnen und so. Ich suche was, was noch darüber hinaus Schaltkreise / Elektronik erklärt. So, dass ich auch eigene PCBs bestellen kann, wie Du es in einem Video gezeigt hast.
Hi Scott I know this ain't related to your video but I wanted to know if you could do a video describing how to design and build a solid state relay. Like build a general one but give us some instructions on if we want to beef up certain components to handle higher currents and voltages etc. I am trying to build an ssr to switch my 200A 78V DC welder using a PWM module as a control circuit to create a pulse feature but I can't find videos on how to build a circuit with my specifications. Many thanks I love your videos
wow scott you left this comment a week ago, sounds interesting!
@SSK[SLEEPYBOY] oh! I am sorry not you, i was replying to scott
@ArthurDS ME ???
Not only a great engineer 👩🏻💻 but a new skilled guitar 🎸 player! Congratulations!
Seven Nation Army, right?
You should look into creating a midi pickup for the guitar - something like the Fishman Triple Play:- www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Fishman+TriplePlay It converts a signal from a stick-on magnetic pickup, into a midi signal, which can be used to control hardware synths, software synths on PC or an ipad, DAW`s and effects etc. Imagine playing a drum track or piano sound with your guitar :)
"that unlike my attempts, do not suck" I can definitely relate there. a hundred failures for a single success. lol
MORE GUITAR EFFECTS!! TRY THE BOOST EFFECT 2 boost in series to make a overdrive
pls make a music studio power supply!!
The version with the 555 timer sounded pretty cool, to be honest
Urmom
7:21 ngl sounds kinda good
Music tip; You should check out Fennesz (if you haven't already), an Austrian musician who has built a few custom effects too. I think you'd like his music.
So, what you have created is a digital version if a fuzzbox / distortion pedal. Nice; but, these date back to the 50's or 60's; so noting new. Time to up your game. Another idea - Use an FFT to find the primary notes of the incoming signal then either use that to create a MIDI stream and plug into commercial keyboard or just generate then tones youself. Take it to the next level - Use the detected tones and then do the math to add an accompanying tone (complete the chord, or double the root tone).
nice
mr scott can u tell me which app do u use for circut designing and can u give me the app link for android thank u
"Lets get started! " that's so satisfying
Now that you are playing Guitar, you should check out my fellow Toledo Ohioan Jeff Kollman. He is currently playing with Alan Parsons. Jeff has a sweet pedal out that might interest you. csworld.info/mem/video/qrhmqHqHm4NjpIs.html
0:20 there's an SLA 3d printer in the back ground
Your guitar is out of tune in the beginning.
You should go PRO!
10:23 pretty smart showing Amazon basics battery while saying basically
we want the "Board of canada" version of the pedal :D
Combine it with some LEDs!!
? Am I the only one thinking : Scotty doesnt know that Fiona and me...🎸 Lmao
The second effect (square wave i think) reminds me of the Mettalica's song "pulling teeth".
This is bullshit
Very good
Hi greatscott, I'm currently experimenting with my old car's digital tachometer which uses +12v signal to measure rpm from igniter module.. then I looked to internet how to switch high side 12v.. I found schematic that uses 2 transistor, one npn and one pnp.. I ended up following the schematics with 2n2222 and Tip42c.. but it's not working and I don't know why.. I am dumb at transistors.. the Tip42c won't fully turn off.. can you help me with this?
Greetings from Canada ❤️🌹🇨🇦🇨🇦 Do you have any plan moving to high voltage projects?
8:39 "Starting removing the filters" Oh boy.
Yeah, listening to the original it probably needs those filter components. /watch?v=vECPNuPytuw&t=41

Finaly i saw your face
My friend. When you said guitar effects, I thought you'd actually make nice electronics like reverb, multi- frequency mixer etc.. but this just sounds blah.
song he is playing on guitar is "take on me"✌
Hi actually i watch movie called the Imitation game . In that movie they showed that how enigma is the one if the best encoding machine and how Germans use this to comand their next attack . I will not go in details but i would love to see you building such a device or similar to that . Thankyou
GreatScott! - Next Year Hmm... Let's make it DIY 😎🤘
Could u find/modify a hair dryer to be designed for continous run? Details that the hair dryer needs to have: - 3 Heat modes (200W/500W, 600W/1000W, 1000W/1500W); - 2 Speed modes (low/high); - 220-240V
Make your room tour
...",,,you can find synth projects that, unlike my attempts, do not suck".....I'm laughing since 3 hour
Your final version sounded really nice.
Ugg, when you mount panel switches, you put a nut on the back of the panel and use that to tighten it up with. You adjust the front nut by hand, to make it appear how you want. If you tighten the back nut, you don't take a chance on damaging the panel.
You may not take ideas for videos but please make a Video on how to make Heated Gloves. :) I feel like you would be great at this!
Out of topic. Can I increase range for Ultrasonic HC-SR04 1-1.5 meter
Congratulations 🎉🎉 in advance for 1.5M subscription ♥️ #ElectroGyan
I tore apart a really old electronic organ and it has a gold ceramic microprocessor but there are these rods and wires that have to be some precious metal do you have any clue what I am talking about
Check out the spark amp I just got one and I got a wireless cord setup for it. I love this thing it allows a whole new level for beginners to learn and experts to play. Check it out!
Me gusta la guitarra 🎸
Interesante
I know you're ironically saying you're play like that after 4 months but I need you to acknowledge that it is in fact ironic... Please tell me you're not actually that confident, you may be misleading your viewers on the learning curve of music lol
wireless guitar system please
Hello Scott! I have two faulty tv's at home (from 2013, dead mobo's which is a common problem) and I would like to have them working again as it is a waste to trow out 2 good lcd panels with just a faulty motherboard. I found out that they use a V-By-One 8-lane signal by looking for their datasheet. The panel is a Samsung LTA460HQ17, I found some 4k V-By-One drivers on aliexpress but my screen is fullHD, i dont know if that matters, as well as the horizontal/vertical frequencies? Most likely you wont see this message but you're amazingly good at electronics and I hoped that you can/want to help me!
But we need B A S S
Good to see a video with your face ... All the videos I've watched just show your hands or what you're working on 😁👍 And where is your accent from? Keep making videos, they are all very helpful
Now that you are into music please make a Arduino midi keyboard using Arduino Leonardo or pro mini Please 🥺🥺
greatscott greatguitarr
I have a question I have a 12v 3s 20A BMS but I made 2 battery back one is 18.2A and another is 24A both are 12v battery pack Can I use that 20A BMS in my battery pack
How much paper and ink does he waste
Something with more then one effect at a time would be cool.
Nice. Thank you.
First time seeing your face😀
Can you make VL196 in cheaper version, like with arduino , raspberry or something like that. Thanks, you great!
Just for your own curiosity you should look up what some Fuzz pedals do to audio signal. It's simple, but to me there is something so crazy about completely 'blowing out' audio frequencies to get a new sound.
when a german says "it sounds/looks/feels/is interesting" it means "it's shit boi"
I'd love to see a series on building old school analog effects pedals (vs software controlled one)
Legends say that Great Scott made this video just to flex on his newly acquired Guitar skills.
Software for music is much better than this because you can modify it according to your 1string play combine it together forms a piece of music
Isn't any music played electrically?
Maybe try to experiment with some dsp? csworld.info/mem/video/obWBkIKkrqF4pn8.html
Hi! If you are interested, I have a few guitar effect PCBs designed at my EasyEDA page. I got the inspiration to do a few revisions from the youtube channel "learnelectronics" where he constructed the "the rockman guitar effect PCB". I would greatly appreciate if someone tests these designs of mine because I do not currently own a guitar... easyeda.com/markus_jidoka
When you make an automatically acetone dissolver for 3D printing?
I also have a guitar, i'll try the same project as you. Could you please make more vids like this one Like a wawa pedal or an overdrive or a delay/reverb pedal
You keep on ROCKin, my friend. Love your efforts to find a great solution to complex/electronic needs. Bravo.
left handed advice: u should try flipping A guitar. As usual you need more controls when u use arpeggios, picados or other techniques. In my case it helped a lot.
By the way Scott, thanks for all of your electronics lesson. 🥰
You can now create a new channel dedicated for guitar playing. 😁😁
Nice video! You should try this effect vulcanofx.blogspot.com/2013/10/dod-fx25.html?m=1 . Or using a pt2399 to make a delay haha ! Cheers!
7:22 8-bit
built in tuna. i like!
Is that 'Air Supply - All out of love' that your playing at the end?
please make a video on distortion pedal.
What was that song, you can play now?
Take on me
Nice flic! Would like to see more of this kind of content. What can you do with what math fiddling with the input signal.
Make something that your gitar signal influences the potmeter of the freqensiegenerator
Hey can you please make a video on explaining the motors used in the new Lucid Air EV Car
Hello now i see you...:)
H
Awesome video. Well done.
First guitar is out of tune
Ok now CSworld has ruined descriptions of videos don't believe me try for yourself
Can you make a LED bluetooth music bulb
Dudes is that music it's you??
Ist es möglich mit dieser Methode der Manipulation auch die die Stimme zu modulieren? Wie ein Echo und Hall Effekt Gerät?
Klar
7:25 im gonna build that
Im literaly like scott
Metal Zone Clone PLIZZZZ
U could use DAW (digital audio workstation) like Fl studio Ableton are all daws It has many plugins such as synthesizer etc.
4:56 uh, what are you doing?
So multi-talented! Thank you for being so real & vulnerable, sharing the entirety of your process failures and successes, in that I felt very connected to your content. I could relate. Thank you as well for sharing your musical journey. I really enjoyed this!
Amazing 🙂
You were playing Hallelujah in that third one?
A really good approach in fail and success! If you want more, perhaps you try out a midi interface for your guitar and feed it to LMMS? It was great fun with my epiano but should work with guitars as well.
